Because it is a personal choice and definition of freedom means different things to different people. Also 'our' notion of freedom which is very urban and city centric may not suit the rural orthodox mindset.<br /><br />When I look back I think he was quite clear from the beginning what he wanted in his life and that was security. And why not? When we speak of freedom it also brings loads of insecurity along with it as you are responsible for all your actions. You are facing life alone on your own terms and there is no one to guide you to tell if you are going wrong or right. In short there are no benchmarks , there are no safety nets to safeguard you, which a traditional or orthodox lifestyle can provide.<br /><br />@Di<br />In hindsight his decision was very right. And finally change is the only constant phenomenon in life.So if he had met me or not there would have been some changes in his life. So I cannot take credit for anything.It is my ego that made me feel I can empower a village boy with my knowledge of city world.
